Danie Botha (Born 1951) started his insurance career with Santam Insurance in Windhoek in 1974. After three months in underwriting, he was transferred to the claims department. Danie was transferred to Santam Worcester in 1976 and at the end of that year was transferred to the Port Elizabeth branch. From 1977 to 1982 Danie followed a career as Organizer and ended up in Upington. In 1982 he opened a loss adjusting office, Lesley Brown & Partners. Two years later, he became an independent Loss Adjuster.

Operations from Upington covered the Northern Cape, North West and Namibia. Danie experienced the development of the table grape industry along the Lower Orange River from the start.

The business moved to Paarl (Western Cape) in 2002.

Fields of experience were accrued in the co-operative and agricultural sector covering grape crop insurance (losses), pack shed and cold storage losses, grain and fodder storage (liability and silo structures), fodder manufacturing (fires & liability), wine losses, cotton gin fires, wild land fires (veld fires), flood claims, stray animals and commercial claims including local government etc.
